Welcome to IAGD
The Islamic Association of Greater Detroit is a diverse, historic community that has served the Greater Detroit area for over forty years — offering daily prayers, education, and programs for all ages, year-round.
Community & board meeting details
Community information
- Open attendance: community members are welcome at monthly board meetings, unless it is a closed session (board members only).
- Schedule: in-person on the 1st Sunday of each month at 8:30 AM in the Board Room (2nd floor).
- Agenda: finalized 2 days prior to each meeting.
To present a proposal
- Email your project or initiative details to secretary@iagd.net.
- You will receive confirmation with the meeting date and time your item is added to the agenda.
About the board
- 9 elected members, each serving a 3-year term.
- Every year, 3 members’ terms expire, followed by elections.
- To vote, individuals must become members by July 31st of that year.

Phase-4 Renovation Project
Alhamdulillah, Phase-4 is well underway
This project includes the construction of five new multipurpose rooms and a 700-person-capacity Banquet Center. InshaAllah, three of these rooms will be dedicated to our Hifz School, while two will be used by Noor Academy.
Noor Academy has already started its 4th-grade program, with plans to add 5th grade next year — a complete full-time Islamic elementary education from Pre-K through 5th grade under the Noor Academy umbrella.
The new 700-person Banquet Center will provide a beautiful and convenient space adjacent to the masjid for nikah ceremonies, wedding receptions, family gatherings, community events, business meetings, seminars, and other functions. The facility will also include a state-of-the-art audio-visual system, making it suitable for both community and professional events.

Sponsorship opportunities
Sponsor a part of the facility
This year, the IAGD Board has approved specific sub-project sponsorship opportunities, allowing donors to support a particular part of the facility.
Donors who sponsor designated components will have the opportunity to have their name or family name recognized on a plaque within the facility, as a lasting sadaqah and contribution to the community.
